The Cohesion Factory Association celebrates the achievements made by the “Puerto Violeta” project, an initiative that has left a significant mark since its inception in 2017. With the aim of increasing female participation in the port sector and promoting shared responsibility, the project has carried out actions to acknowledge and highlight the crucial role of women in the maritime industry.
In line with the gender equality vision in the maritime-port sector, Puerto Violeta implements initiatives to recognise the vital role of women in this predominantly male industry. Through training programmes and outreach activities, the project encourages new generations to consider careers in the maritime industry, addressing persistent inequalities. With financial support from the Vice-Ministry of Equality and Diversity of the Canary Islands Government and the key collaboration of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port Authority, the initiative leads the way towards a more inclusive and equitable future in port communities.
