The local government of La Laguna, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, is organising a special market event in celebration of Father’s Day. Casa Efímera is leading the initiative to showcase and provide support to local businesses, freelancers, and designers in the region. Dubbed as ‘La Casa de Gepetto’, this event will be hosted at the Castillo de La Laguna, on the Camino Largo, this upcoming weekend.
A diverse range of products such as textiles, accessories, jewellery, and natural cosmetics will be available for purchase at this market. The event will also feature interactive workshops designed for families to enjoy together.
The Department of Commerce, with the aim of boosting local designers and offering them a platform to showcase and sell their products, is supporting this initiative. Estefanía Díaz, the Councilor for Commerce, highlighted the opportunity for participants to network and share experiences. According to Díaz, Father’s Day serves as a perfect occasion to spotlight the creativity, talent, and quality of local creations, which play a vital role in La Laguna’s identity and economy. She further added, “It will be a vibrant and family-friendly setting where visitors can engage in exciting activities and explore unique and innovative products.”
This Saturday, 16th March, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., attendees can partake in a series of complimentary activities and workshops. Children will have the chance to participate in various workshops to craft personalised gifts for their parents, enjoy face painting, and visit a balloon station with surprises for purchases over 10 Euros, among other exciting experiences.
Moreover, ‘La Casa de Gepetto’ will welcome influencers who will share the latest updates on the brands present at the market through their social media platforms, ensuring that visitors stay informed about trends and top-quality products.
On Sunday, 17th March, also from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., additional free surprises await. Activities include a plant workshop with TallitosGreen, where children can decorate pots and plant their own greens to give as gifts, as well as ‘About Mom’s Stories’ sessions, family yoga, and music-related activities.
During the Saturday and Sunday morning sessions, the audience can enjoy demonstrations by members of the Acquamarina Club, who will showcase their acrobatic skills at the Gepetto’s House Circus. These Club members hold impressive titles, including Champions of Spain 2023 Advanced Level in the Children’s Category and the Duo Youth Category, as well as Runners-up of Spain 2003 Medium Level in the Youth Category.
