SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11th March (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife solemnly observed a minute of silence today, Monday, to express solidarity and remember the lives lost and families affected by the tragic events of March 11, 2004 in Madrid.
The ceremony took place at Plaza del Cabildo and was attended by the President of Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, and members of the insular Corporation who joined the call made by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
At the conclusion of the event, Rosa Dávila remarked that March 11th “marked a significant moment in Spain’s history, particularly in acknowledging the victims of terrorism.”
“Today, we honour the memory of the victims with this minute of silence, transcending political divisions that sometimes cloud these occasions. We urge all political factions to come together and support the true victims, those who have endured the loss of a loved one in the horrific attacks. Two decades on, we remember all those affected by this tragic incident in Madrid,” she added.
