SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 10th March (EUROPA PRESS) –
The President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, has urged for a complete transfer of coastal powers to enable the archipelago to determine the fate of its shores.
These comments were made during his address at the inauguration of the Valleseco puddle area, located on the island of Tenerife,
“Dealing with the entire coastal management is a complex task and I stand by emphasizing the necessity for Canarian authorities to have the autonomy to decide on matters concerning our coastline, independently from external influences,” he remarked.
Therefore, Clavijo stressed the commitment of the Canary Islands to fiercely advocate for a full transfer of powers, ensuring that citizens have their local authorities within reach to make decisions regarding their coastlines.
