What’s the weather forecast for this Saturday in the Canary Islands?

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts that on Saturday there will be partly cloudy skies with possible light and occasional rain in the northern mountainous areas, maximum temperatures decreasing slightly to moderately with weak frosts at mountain summits in Tenerife and La Palma, and northerly winds.

The wind will shift to the northwest around noon, according to the forecast.

Regarding sea conditions, it will be windy from the north or northeast with force 3 or 4 and 4 or 5, rough seas and locally strong rough seas, while on the southern coasts, there will be variable winds from 1 to 3 and 2 to 4 with slight sea and rough seas. There will be a northwest swell with waves temporarily reaching between 2 and 3 metres.

The island-by-island forecast is as follows:

Partly cloudy with predominantly clear skies in the south at the beginning and partly cloudy skies in the north in the afternoon, with a chance of light and occasional rain, especially towards late evening. Minimum temperatures remaining mostly unchanged. Maximum temperatures slightly to moderately rising, more noticeably in the interior areas of the north. Light to moderate northwest winds, intensifying towards the end of the day, especially in the northeast and west slopes.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: 16 23

Partly cloudy with a chance of light and occasional rain, mainly during the second half of the day. Temperatures slightly rising, possibly becoming locally moderate inland. Moderate northwest wind with strong intervals in interior and eastern areas from the morning.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Arrecife: 15 24

Partly cloudy with a chance of light and occasional rain, more likely on the western slopes during the second half of the day. Temperatures slightly rising, possibly becoming locally moderate inland. Moderate northwest wind with strong intervals in interior and eastern areas from the morning.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Puerto del Rosario: 17 23

TENERIFE

Partly cloudy in general, with a chance of light and occasional rain in the north, mainly during the second half of the day. Some light and occasional rain is not ruled out in the eastern midlands in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures stable or slightly rising. Maximum temperatures slightly to moderately rising, more noticeably in the interior zones. Moderate northwest wind with strong intervals in the western slopes and, finally, in the high areas of the northeast. In central peaks, moderate to strong northwest winds.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Santa Cruz de Tenerife: 17 24

Partly cloudy in general, with a chance of light and occasional rain in the north, mainly during the second half of the day. Minimum temperatures stable or slightly rising. Maximum temperatures slightly to moderately rising, more noticeably in the interior zones. Moderate northwest wind turning north by the end of the day, with strong intervals on western and eastern slopes, and in the peaks in the late hours.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

San Sebastián de la Gomera: 16 22

LA PALMA

Partly cloudy with a chance of light and occasional rain, mainly during the second half of the day. Temperatures slightly to moderately rising, more pronounced in midlands and mountain summits. Moderate northwest wind turning north by the end of the day.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Santa Cruz de la Palma: 16 23

The week starts with a possibility of light rains in the Canary Islands by María Pisaca

Partly cloudy in general, with a chance of light and occasional rain in the north, mainly during the second half of the day. Temperatures slightly to moderately rising, especially in maximum temperatures in interior zones. Moderate northwest winds, with strong intervals on the western and northeastern slopes, and mountain tops during the latter part of the day.

EXPECTED MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Valverde: 13 18
