The Local Government of Tegueste, in collaboration with the Winegrowers Association of the area (Avite), is set to host the prestigious Wines of Tegueste award ceremony to celebrate the outstanding wines of the 2023 harvest on March 15.
Mayor Ana Rosa Mena highlights the significance of this annual event, aimed at acknowledging the dedication of individuals in the local wine industry and showcasing the finest wines across different categories. “This event holds great importance for Tegueste as it provides winemakers with the opportunity to present their top-quality wines for sommeliers and wine enthusiasts to appreciate,” she comments.
Environment and Primary Sector Councilor Julián Rodríguez reveals that the event kicks off on March 8 with an exquisite ‘Wine and chocolate pairing’ session led by El Sitio winery’s sommelier Rebeca Torres Cabeza at Casa Los Zamorano.
On March 10, the same venue will host ‘Vermouth Journey through Tegueste’. Subsequent activities starting from the following day will be dedicated to identifying the best wines of 2023, with participating wineries providing their samples. The calendar will culminate on March 14 with a classic blind wine tasting, leading to the grand finale of the Tegueste Wines Distinction Ceremony 2023. Free entry will be granted for the event at the Príncipe Felipe Theater, commencing at 8:00 p.m., and featuring captivating performances by Ayla Rodríguez and David Duque.
