The Tenerife Island Council is exploring the possibility of reopening the motorhome facility at Camping de Montaña Roja, located in the town of Granadilla, for the benefit of the public.
The Department of Natural Environment, Sustainability, and Emergency Services took the decision to close the site last Thursday after the current concessionaire opted not to renew their contract.
Camping Montaña Roja offers various amenities including areas for motorhomes, camping pitches, cabins, as well as a café and restaurant.
Gesplan, a public company, has been tasked with carrying out necessary works to ensure round-the-clock security and maintenance of the premises.
There is an ongoing legal dispute concerning the cabin area, and the council is awaiting the resolution of this matter before making a final decision regarding the campsite’s future.
There are hundreds of Motorhomes on the Island but I doubt they would use the site if it opens again.
