Tenerife still offers a plethora of weekend activities thanks to both public and private initiatives aimed at maintaining entertainment on the island. Carnival, sports, and shows for the whole family are the enticing options lined up for the upcoming days, ensuring hours of entertainment tailored to your preferences. Here are the scheduled plans for this weekend:
Carnival
Carnival is still in full swing in Tenerife. This weekend, places like El Médano, La Esperanza, and Los Gigantes, for instance, will host their carnival festivities. Candelaria will also resume the events that had to be cancelled last week due to bad weather.
El Médano will host the 5th edition of the Daytime Carnival this Saturday, featuring over 15 hours of uninterrupted activities and musical performances for the whole family. The event will kick off at 11:00 am with a parade from Playa Chica to the square, featuring the comparsas Kuliquitacas del Sur and Guajeiros with their percussion band, as well as the children’s murga Los Retorciditos.
From 11:30 am to 3:30 pm, there will be carnival activities for the little ones, including workshops, inflatables, and a children’s show. In the afternoon, starting at 4:00 pm, the music will take over the stage with performances by Neo Pinto; Orquesta Atlantic; Acapulco; Dj Alejo; Grupo Paraiso; Dj Fabrizio; Nueva Ilusión; Fernandito, and Aparranda2.
The municipality will bid farewell to the Carnival on Sunday with the burial of the sardine, starting from Plaza Ramón y Cajal (El Calvario) at 7:00 pm. The day will conclude in the Los Hinojeros park with a burial dance party livened up by the group Una Hora Menos, along with a sardine barbecue.
La Esperanza will celebrate its Cuban-themed Day Carnival this Saturday, featuring a stellar performance by the Estrellas de Buenavista group (8:00 pm) paying tribute to the music of the iconic Buenavista Social Club, showcasing the golden era of Cuban son, guajira, and salsa. Taking place in the Plaza del Adelantado, La Esperanza, from 11:00 am, there will also be a costume contest, performances by the La Reve group, the Tagoror percussion band, the Yufunk DanceSchool group, the children’s murga Los Cabitos, the children’s choreographic group Rebeca Frías, the comparsa Tropicana, and the soloist David Pérez, among others.

Tenerife Noir
The Atlantic Noir Genre Festival Tenerife Noir offers a wide range of activities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife this weekend. L’Incanto – Cultural Space, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will host the musical ‘Pinocchio’ this Saturday, a family show that narrates the adventures of a wooden puppet that comes to life under the enchantment of a very peculiar fairy. Sports
This weekend is packed with sports. On Saturday, starting at 7:45 pm, the Lenovo Tenerife will face Coviran Granada at the Santiago Martín Pavilion.
On Sunday, football enthusiasts can enjoy the La Liga match between CD Tenerife and CD Mirandés. The game will take place at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López at 3:15 pm.
