The Municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, under the direction of Alicia Cebrián in the Sports Services department, has introduced a new online system for acquiring free usage vouchers and managing access for visitors to the Acidalio Lorenzo municipal swimming pool, as well as for the rental of municipal sports facilities. This can be done through the website santacruzentrena.es.
Enrolment for various sports activities held in the municipality, such as artistic gymnastics, Pilates, and dance, can also be completed via the same website. This new access method has been active since Friday, March 1.
The Sports Councilor, Alicia Cebrián, stated, “This new measure is being implemented with the aim of modernising and enhancing the quality of the service, along with providing convenience to users who can now purchase their vouchers without visiting the municipal swimming pool office. Additionally, the website will allow easier access for citizens to rent municipal sports facilities, like the tennis courts in the Tío Pino neighbourhood, the paddle tennis courts in Las Delicias, or the Quico Cabrera sports hall, among others.”
Implementing this online system, as per Cebrián, “enhances the Sports Service offering, which will now be digitalised. This will aid in better management of supply and demand for activities, and in analysing the most requested activities by demographic segments, age groups, and timings,” she explained.
Alicia Cebrián clarified that “this measure will be gradually introduced, as there are still individuals holding passes that are valid for a year. These pass holders will not lose their money. Hence, both processes will coexist for a while.”
The purchasing process is straightforward. Simply visit the website ww.santacruzentrena.es, create a user account, and proceed to purchase the voucher. Once the pass frequency is chosen, online payment can be made, and a QR code will be sent to the buyer’s mobile phone for access to the swimming pool via the installed barcode reader at the facility. This user profile can also be used for future voucher top-ups.
Besides online purchases, an electronic card will be activated for senior citizens or those without mobile phones. The process for this card will mirror that of the QR code for facility access. However, card purchase and top-ups must be done at the Acidalio Lorenzo pool office, with extended hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
An information helpline (609742213) will also be available. The first card request is free, but subsequent replacements due to loss or damage will cost 3 euros.
To conclude, Alicia Cebrián highlighted that “this initiative aims to simplify procedures for users, permitting them to manage space bookings and payments online round the clock, seven days a week.”
