The Tenerife tram is currently experimenting with the installation of grab handles in one of its trams to enhance safety and prevent falls during journeys, as announced on Friday through their ‘X’ profile.
“This is just an initial trial on tram number 118, to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of this safety measure,” they stated in the said profile, sparking numerous comments from users.
“It’s essential to ensure safety without turning passengers into test subjects. If this trial pertains to ticket acceptance, I’m in!” mentioned one user on Twitter.
Responding from the Tenerife Tram account, they said, “Safety depends on how the handles are used – whether responsibly and for their intended purpose, or if misuse leads to conflicts.”
