The upcoming Tecnológica Santa Cruz – Grupo Canaauto event, in its thirteenth edition, is set to take place from March 12 to 17 at the Guimerá Theater and Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA). The event will feature a diverse programme led by around fifteen experts from various fields, covering key topics in information technology and communication.

With a history of over a hundred speakers, Tecnológica Santa Cruz is the longest-standing ICT event in Spain. This edition will delve into subjects such as artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, robotics, communication, and the latest technological trends. The event will offer a parallel programme featuring talks on business strategies, an educational community session, a programmers’ meetup, and a fun-filled activity dedicated to Asian culture, K-pop, and video games over the weekend.

The event was officially presented by Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez and Development Society Councillor Carmen Pérez, along with other key figures like Purificación Dávila from the Centro-Ifara district. Notable attendees included Eduardo González from TecnoPlay, Jota y Punto from TecnoHack, CEO Antonio Armas from the Canaauto group, and José Serrano González from the European University’s Faculty of Social Sciences.

Mayor Bermúdez emphasised Santa Cruz’s commitment to technology-based companies and the use of technology across various sectors. He highlighted the participation of fifteen experts from diverse backgrounds in exploring the latest information technology trends.

Carmen Pérez highlighted the array of new activities scheduled from Tuesday to Sunday, alongside pre-event features like video game courses, online contests, and podcasts, to create an engaging experience for attendees.

Among the key activities are the “Boost your company with emerging technologies” forum on the 12th, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Big Data, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and No Code. Wednesday will host talks on business resilience, aiming to inspire individuals in the tech industry. Prior to these sessions, podcasts will be launched and exclusive interviews conducted to provide insights into the upcoming discussions.

EDUCATION INITIATIVE

Thursday will feature an event for the educational community at the Guimerá Theater, followed by traditional conferences by national and international speakers in the evening.

Over the weekend, TEA will host TecnoPlay, a section dedicated to video games and Asian culture from March 15 to 17. This includes video game competitions, digital art showcases, tabletop games, virtual reality experiences, arcade machines, chess games, and K-pop dance performances, with entry until full capacity. The timings are Friday, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., concluding with a free concert by British K-pop group ATTI.

A new addition is TecnoHack on Saturday and Sunday at TEA, offering training sessions and mentoring for collaborative software development among students.
