The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, under the Sports department, will be launching a novel system for obtaining free pass vouchers and managing access for visitors to the Acidalio Lorenzo municipal swimming pool. This new approach involves online voucher purchases via the santacruzentrena.es website. Upon completing the payment for one, five, or twenty passes, users will receive a QR code. This code can be scanned at the pool entrance using a mobile device to grant access.
Municipal Sports area councilor, Alicia Cebrián, announced that this fresh initiative will kick off starting from March 1. The objective is to enhance service quality by modernizing the process and offering users the convenience of purchasing vouchers without the need to visit the pool office.
Additionally, the website will feature an update to simplify the rental process of municipal sports facilities such as tennis courts in Tío Pino, paddle tennis courts in Las Delicias, and the Quico Cabrera pavilion.
This new tool aims to enhance the Sports service by digitizing processes, better managing activity supply and demand, and analysing demographics for improved service delivery.
Purchases
For residents, buying vouchers will be a straightforward process. They can visit the town hall’s website (www.santacruzentrena.es), register an account, and follow the specified link to purchase the pass. Upon selecting the pass frequency (priced as follows: one use: 2 euros; five uses: 10 euros; and 20 uses: 23.50 euros), payment can be made online. The buyer will receive a QR code on their mobile device for entry to the pool using the provided barcode reader. This user account will also be used for future pass top-ups.
The mayor mentioned that an electronic card will be available for elderly or mobile phone-less individuals. The process, similar to the QR code access system, will require a visit to the Acidalio Lorenzo pool offices to purchase and top-up the card. Office hours will be extended from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. An information hotline will also be in service (609742213). The initial card request is free, but subsequent replacements due to loss or damage will incur a 3 euro charge.
Regarding the additional feature for managing municipal sports facilities reservations and payments online via the website, the councilor highlighted that “this step aims to simplify procedures for users, providing them with 24/7 access to space bookings and payments.”
