His body was discovered on Playa de la Araña in the municipality of Los Silos, according to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The body was found around 8:15 a.m. after an alert was received by the 1-1-2 operational room reporting a deceased man on the shore of the mentioned beach.

Health Center staff from Los Silos, brought to the scene by the Local Police, confirmed the man’s death. The Firefighters Consortium retrieved the body under instruction from the judicial authority.

Civil Guard carried out necessary procedures while the Local Police assisted other emergency services.

The incident took place at Rojas beach in Tenerife last Saturday. The man was in the water with a 12-year-old child who was rescued by a GES helicopter after swimming away from the dangerous area.

Unfortunately, the man was swept away by a wave and struck against rocks. It was suspected that his body was swept into one of the nearby caves. An extensive search operation was carried out by land, sea, and air until his body was found.

The 12-year-old had moderate hypothermia and abrasions when rescued. He was taken to Canary Islands University Hospital along with a woman experiencing anxiety.
