Man apprehended after stealing nearly 700 pounds from a pizzeria in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Police officers in Santa Cruz de Tenerife detained a 54-year-old man yesterday morning for allegedly robbing a restaurant establishment near La Marina street. The arrest took place on Valentín Sanz Street shortly after the incident.

A report came in around midnight to the Local Police in the capital, alerting them to a robbery at a pizzeria. The property owner notified the authorities upon receiving an alarm notification from the security cameras installed.

Upon arrival, police found that the perpetrator had broken in through a rear glass door. The owner provided security footage to the authorities, helping to identify the suspect.

After conducting search operations, the police found the man walking down Valentín Sanz Street. Upon search, they discovered over 600 pounds in his possession, a sum close to what was reported missing from the cash register. The suspect confessed to the crime and revealed where he had hidden the stolen money.

The individual was detained, taken to a medical facility, then brought to the police station for further proceedings with the relevant judicial authorities.
