A group of around thirty small and medium enterprises, freelancers, and digitalization agents discussed this week the potential that artificial intelligence (AI) has to improve their businesses in a unique setting: Insulares de Tenerife Wineries. Amid guided tours and tastings of the finest local products, participants were able to enjoy a masterclass on technological innovations tailored to companies to achieve greater benefits.

Getting to know in a pleasant and relaxed way technological solutions that improve companies’ processes is the goal set in motion by Ashotel through its SME Acceleration Office (Oapyme) with the Wine & ICT initiative, which has just held its inaugural session in Tenerife and will extend to La Palma and El Hierro in the coming months.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn from the experience of Isaac González, Business Developer at Pléyone, a Canarian company whose mission is to contribute to improving business processes through the use of advanced technological solutions.

The representative of Pléyone explained that in a business environment driven by technological innovation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a key enabler for SMEs seeking to remain competitive. “The ability of AI to improve operational efficiency, identify growth opportunities and anticipate customer needs is allowing SMEs to unlock their full potential and achieve new levels of success,” he explained, citing several AI applications useful in everyday operations.

As artificial intelligence continues to evolve and become more accessible, its adoption by small and medium enterprises is expected to grow, thus driving innovation and digital transformation in all business sectors. “By investing in AI solutions and fostering an innovation-centric business culture, SMEs are poised to thrive in an ever-changing and challenging business environment,” González affirmed.

Wine & ICT has technical assistance from Grupo Innovaris, whose general director, Alexis Robles, briefly discussed the array of grants and aid available for SME digitalization, information of interest to attendees.

At the conclusion, attendees were able to take a small guided tour of the Insulares Tenerife Wineries facilities and sample various products, thanks to the guidance and explanations provided by their Sales Manager, Yaiza Álvarez.

The next session of this Ashotel initiative will take place in La Palma on April 25th. Wine & ICT will bring its sessions to wineries, cooperatives, and other facilities scattered throughout the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with the exception of La Gomera.
