Hotel Staff Member Nabbed in Tenerife for Pilfering a Diamond Ring Worth 16,000 Euros

The Civil Guard apprehended a hotel staff member in the southern part of Tenerife on suspicion of stealing a diamond ring worth 16,000 euros. The ring belonged to a guest who had stored it inside the room safe.

According to a statement released by the Civil Guard on Monday, a British tourist staying on the island lodged a complaint after discovering that the ring was missing from the safe, which was found open.

Following an investigation and collection of evidence, authorities targeted a hotel staff member who, upon being confronted, returned the ring, claiming to have found it in the cleaning trolley.

Subsequently, the individual was arrested on charges of theft.

The arrested person, along with the evidence, has been handed over to the Judicial Authority.
