Step into a world of Carnival delight at the Arona Flea Market in Guaza. Last weekend, this bustling market came alive with a riot of colours, exuberant spirits, and a myriad of costumes. It was a whirlwind of festivity sandwiched between the end of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnivals and the start of Los Cristianos Carnivals, making the Rastro space a true embodiment of the celebrations. It was the perfect meeting point for locals and visitors alike on weekends in Guaza, Arona.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere was the spectacular performance of the Rhythm Sureño troupe, under the direction of the talented Silvia Ferrera. With 77 members donning the fantastical ‘Memories of ’94’ theme, they brought an unparalleled energy to the Rastro.
The resounding success of this event, where Carnival reigned supreme for two days, showcased the positive direction in which the flea market is heading. The increasing participation of the local, national, and international crowds reflects a growing connection between the market and society. As one of the organisers highlighted, “The community’s enthusiastic response to our energising activities confirms that we are on the right track. We are committed to continuing in this direction, buoyed by the overwhelming support from everyone involved.”
