SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23rd February (EUROPA PRESS) –
Asaga Canarias, COAG Canarias, Agate, UPA, ASPA, PALCA, the Gran Canaria Livestock Cooperative Society, and the Business Association of Livestock and Dairy Industries of the Canary Islands (AEGIL) will be resuming mobilizations this Saturday in Tenerife to support the primary sector.
Carrying the banner ‘Cultivating the Canarian Fields’, farmers and ranchers will advocate for fair wages in rural areas and voice their opposition to the current Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). They see the policy as increasingly constrictive, regulatory, and threatening to the future of food production activities.
Tractors will assemble at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Fairgrounds, with prior mass departures from La Orotava and La Laguna. They will then proceed along La Salle and San Sebastián avenues before concluding at the Nuestra Señora De África market. Here, they will present a manifesto and distribute fresh produce.
