A good cup of coffee is highly valued by all coffee lovers who rely on this beverage to start their day or recharge throughout it. In Tenerife, two establishments have been included in the list of the best specialty coffee shops in Spain.
Makika & Co., in La Laguna, and Boutique Relieve, in Puerto de la Cruz, have been recognised by The Best Coffee Shops as among the 61 best establishments. The judging criteria for these awards included coffee quality, service quality, comfort of the premises, barista expertise, ambiance, and specialties of the venues.
Among the judges was a native of the Canary Islands. Dara Santana, better known on social media as Dartcaffeine, was one of those responsible for evaluating all the submissions on the list. According to the publication, Dara “merges science and coffee from her background in chemical engineering and her certifications including Q-Grades, SCA Sensory, and Brewing, among others.”

This coffee shop is one of the most well-known in the city of Aguere. A place filled with greenery and a welcoming atmosphere, offering an extensive menu of breakfasts and brunches to indulge in. Pastries, cakes, or savoury treats delight the taste buds of visitors, along with their coffee.

In Puerto de la Cruz, there is also an award-winning coffee shop. Boutique Relieve, which also has venues in La Orotava, La Vera, and La Montaña, blends tradition with innovation. Traditional breakfasts with new creations that have also won awards.

Alfredo Marrero, the company’s creative director, has been awarded in his first participation in the contest for Best Master Artisan Ice Cream Maker in Spain. He received a total of three awards: Best Vanilla Ice Cream in Spain 2024, Best Cookie Ice Cream in Spain 2024, and Best Chocolate Ice Cream Cake in Spain 2024.
