Two young individuals sustained moderate injuries when the car they were travelling in veered off the road and plummeted down a slope on the Valle de Tabares highway in La Laguna, Tenerife, on Sunday.
The 24-year-old and 20-year-old occupants suffered moderate traumas and were subsequently transported to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in a basic life support ambulance from the SUC.
The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, prompting the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands to receive an alert regarding a vehicle fire after it left the road and fell down a slope.
Prior to catching fire, the occupants were able to exit the vehicle unaided.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the vehicle fire, and appropriate procedures were conducted by the National Police.
