Found in a garbage bag, with a rope around its neck and an open fracture on its head. That was the deplorable state in which a dog was discovered inside a trash container in Granadilla.
According to the canine training center La Trailla, it was a podenco that despite the circumstances in which it was found, was still alive.
In fact, since its discovery, it has been taken to a veterinary center for its initial assessment as well as for emergency surgery, care that has allowed the animal to remain stable within the severity.
The training center reports that it is still not out of danger, but indicates that if the dog can pull through and recover, it will need a foster home until potential adoption.
“We will try to change the rope for a sofa if it survives,” summarizes La Traílla through a message on social media.
Furthermore, the training center informs that the Local Police of the municipality of Granadilla is already investigating the incident, and they have provided the responsible officers with a report from the center’s service and the veterinarian who treated the animal in case proceedings are initiated.
