The Local Government has approved the execution project for the Senior Day Centre to be built in Guargacho. San Miguel de Abona Town Hall has announced that it will go out to tender with a budget of one million euros. The conditions set the deadline for completing this work at one year.

The municipal government presided over by Arturo González has assured that the Guargacho Senior Day Centre «is a priority social facility for the lower area of the municipality». The San Miguel executive has argued that «its implementation will allow the elderly in this part of the geography of San Miguel de Abona to carry out numerous activities every day», focusing on activities for dynamization, «as is being done at the Senior Centre located in the urban area of San Miguel». The aim is to improve the quality of life of the recipients of this infrastructure and its services.

The Guargacho Senior Centre will be located next to the current Domingo Correa Marichal Domingo Chamorro Cultural Centre.

On the other hand, the forecast of the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has been confirmed, and the Local Las Chafiras Clinic opened its doors the day before yesterday. In this way, the 9,094 inhabitants of this locality, Amarilla Golf, Golf del Sur, Aldea Blanca, and Llano del Camello, the nucleus in which it is located, have facilities of more than 1,600 square meters where Primary Care has General Medicine, Nursing, Paediatrics, Physiotherapy, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Midwifery, Emergencies, blood extraction, and a multipurpose room for other services, such as early detection of diabetic retinopathy (ambulatory retinography) and functional respiratory tests (spirometry).

As of Monday, the Family and Community Medicine, Nursing, and Social Work clinics are operational. It is planned that Paediatrics, Paediatric Nursing, and the remaining consultations will be incorporated throughout the month. The user assistance hours are from 08:00 to 20:00 in the morning or afternoon shifts, as reported by the Government of Canary Islands at the time of its inauguration.

The Las Chafiras Local Clinic is located at number 10 Avenida Lucio Díaz Flores Feo, in Llano del Camello, on a plot of 3,700 square meters provided by the San Miguel de Abona Town Hall. 2,215,984 euros were invested in its construction, a project that began in 2019 and required a project modification, delaying its completion by three years.

The previous Las Chafiras clinic was located in the nucleus from which it takes its name and provided its services in an area of 140 square meters.
