81 Individuals Served at Santa Cruz Carnival Hospital During First Night of Festivities

The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival street party saw a total of 81 individuals receiving assistance on the first night, with the majority requiring aid for alcohol intoxication, accounting for 39% of the interventions, as detailed by the capital’s City Council on Saturday.

Out of the 81 individuals assisted, 72 were adults and nine were minors, with 39 men and 42 women. Alongside alcohol poisoning, there were also 26 cases of trauma.

Additionally, 17 cases of general illnesses unrelated to the Carnival were treated, while seven individuals were referred to hospital facilities for further evaluation.

There was also an arrest made for assaulting a National Police officer during the night.

The youth preventive unit, operated by the Spanish Red Cross and the Local Police, attended to eleven minors aged 16 to 17, primarily for alcohol poisoning. Cases of general illness, trauma, and one assault were also reported.

Additionally, twelve individuals sought assistance during the Announcement Parade, with common illness and minor trauma being the predominant issues.
