The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival Announcement Parade witnessed an impressive turnout as more than 80,000 individuals took part in the opening event of the festival. The parade, held on the city streets, endured intermittent rain showers, as reported by the City Council.
The Ni Fú-Ni Fá Afilharmónica led the procession, featuring participation from over 50 groups, adorned car contests, and Carnival floats.
Commencing after 7:30 p.m., the parade continued for more than three hours along the traditional route, spanning from Plaza República Dominicana to Avenida Asuncionistas, followed by Ramón y Cajal streets, Galcerán, Plaza Weyler, Méndez Núñez, El Pilar, Villalba Hervás, and La Marina.
Additionally, the Parade featured a designated silent area at García Sanabria Park for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, and a restricted space for people with limited mobility at the confluence of Robayna streets and Méndez Núñez (Orche area).
The recently crowned Queen of the Santa Cruz Carnival, Corina Mrazek, graced the parade alongside her court of honor, accompanied by children’s sovereign, Sofía Rodríguez Navarro, and the Elderly sovereign, María Isabel García, along with other competition participants.
The parade also saw the vibrant participation of adult and children’s murgas, troupes, and musical and choreographic groups, as well as enthusiastic individuals dressed in diverse costumes.
