On the occasion of the street Carnival celebrations, the Santa Cruz City Council and the Port Authority have agreed to temporarily close the temporary parking and free space located on the port esplanade. The closure will commence at 10:00 p.m. today, Thursday, February 8.
Both entities are coordinating to preserve this space for citizens and the business community post the Carnival celebrations. The positive reception of this parking space during Christmas and sales has led to an increase in parking spaces, facilitating shopping for residents and visitors.
This open-air car park, conveniently located for visiting the city centre’s commercial area, will be reopened promptly after the conclusion of the Carnival festivities. The City Council and the Port Authority are responding to the historical demands of the commercial sector of the Area of Large Tourist Influx, as well as residents and visitors.
The esplanade, spanning over 3,500 square meters, strategically located close to various commercial and restaurant areas, aims to benefit the business community and create a conducive shopping environment.
