Metrotenerife is set to bolster the Line 1 service by introducing double units on all days of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival festivities.
With a capacity of 400 passengers each, these double tram services will commence this Friday morning, operating continuously throughout the first holiday weekend. There will be a frequency of 10 minutes on most days, and during off-peak times, the frequency will be 12 or 15 minutes.
On the first day of Carnival, and in light of the Announcing Parade, the service will conclude in La Paz starting at 6:00 p.m., as well as from 9:00 p.m. on Carnival nights. Additionally, for daytime Carnival events, the Guimerá Theater will be the last stop.
The Puente Zurita stop will remain closed until Peace becomes the final stop on Line 1, as indicated in this source.
However, it’s important to note that this service will be affected intermittently by the announced strike by the company’s workers. Two separate strikes are scheduled during the morning and early afternoon, each lasting around two hours. During these periods, the tram will operate according to the stipulated minimum service levels of 80% or 60% depending on the demand during the strike hours.
For specific service information, passengers can refer to the notices at tram stops or visit Metrotenerife’s social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, and X (@tranviatenerife).
