An unidentified man passed away on Monday after being rescued from the sea in cardiorespiratory arrest, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands.
Lifeguards from El Bollullo beach in the municipality of La Orotava carried out the rescue around 3:29 p.m. They immediately initiated resuscitation procedures on the man.
A self-identified doctor and personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service ambulances collaborated in providing medical assistance. The medical helicopter, which landed on the same beach, confirmed that the man was in cardiorespiratory arrest and efforts to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation continued.
Despite the efforts, resuscitation was unsuccessful, and the victim was pronounced dead.
