The Most Outstanding Outfits at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival

Today, Sunday, a new edition of the Fairgrounds hosted the Children’s and Adult Costume Contest of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with over 300 participants. The event, presented by journalist María José Cámara, attracted over a thousand spectators.

The panel of judges responsible for selecting the best costumes in the contest included María Elena González Ramírez, a carnival designer-decorator; Sergio Real González, a Fine Arts graduate and event organizer; and Patricia Hodgson González, a Fine Arts graduate and restoration specialist.

The contest was graced with the presence of Javier Caraballero, the Festival Councillor; Gladis de León, responsible for Security; and Charín González, the councilor for Social Affairs, representing the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council.

The awards for the contest were as follows:

ADULTS

Men’s individual category

Third place: Elfidio Alejandro Hernández Morales, with the costume “I get married at carnivals”

Second place: Juan Pedro Sanabria Trujillo, with “Anubis el podenco”

First place: Antonio Boga Sánchez, with “Mecamantis”

Women’s individual category

Second place: María del Carmen Rabasco Tomás, with the “Guerrera” costume

First place: Raquel Peña Martín, with “I come out on TV”

Pair category

Third place: Eugenio C. Figueroa and Ricardo G. Barroso, with the costume “Sota, horse and king”

Second place: Roberto Hernández Vera and Mónica Hernández Vera, with “Court Jesters”

First place: Víctor Manuel Jorge Alonso and Domingo Javier Gil Expósito, with “Those wonderful years with the family”

Groups of 6 to 12 people category:

Second place: The carnival illusionists, with the costume “Juan Galarza, today your posters will appear on TV”

First place: Los Tíos, with “Flying I go, flying I come and at the carnival I am entertained”

 

Group category of more than 12 people:

Second place: Family and Plus, with the costume “Roots of a futuristic past”

First place: Carnival has arrived and we are the same as always, with the costume “Candy, carnival flavor”

CHILDREN’S COMPETITION

Boys’ individual category

Third place: Ian Fariña Betancort, with the costume “A sponge at the carnival”

Second place: Eloy Acosta Teja, with “My world in television carnival”

First place: Alan Regalado Romero, with “I put the music here”

Girls’ individual category

First place: Lucía Teja Millares, with the costume “Surfing, we are arriving at the carnival”

Pair category

First place: Mª Concepción Tineo Kung and Marcos Willian Abreu Gaspar, with the costume “Under the sea”

Groups of 6 to 12 people category

Second place: Higo Pico Children’s Center, with “3 years of my life seen from the air”

First place: Asoc. Carnavalera Carroza Since 201, with the costume “The meeting of Valhalla”

Group category of more than 12 people

Third place: Carnival friends, with “From the eastern desert they arrive as/c on magic carpets to make a wish: carnival”

Second place: Sofi’s crayon nursery school, with the costume “If you want to enjoy Sofi’s crayon, hug this little cup and come dance”

First place: Payasin early childhood education center, with “En Payasín, tolón tolón que vacilón”
