Commencing this winter, Tenerife South will introduce a new route from Eindhoven, also famously known as ‘the city of light’, operated by Ryanair. Concurrently, the Dutch airline Transavia will reinstate the second weekly flight to La Palma in the upcoming summer, as announced by the Government of the Canary Islands this Sunday.
Following the surge in air capacity post-pandemic, the total seats scheduled by airlines from the Netherlands for the current winter season will remain at 307,423. Moreover, for the next summer season, it is anticipated to grow by 2% compared to the corresponding period in 2023, offering 391,023 places.
The Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands has specified in a statement that it is actively promoting the advantages of the archipelago as a prime diving destination. This includes the favourable climate and the exceptional quality of its waters.
This promotion takes place at the Duikvaker fair, a prominent event in this domain that annually brings together approximately 150 national and international exhibitors.
Duikvaker attracts over 9,500 visitors each year who are diving enthusiasts. On average, these visitors spend around 1,700 euros on diving-related holidays.
It is noteworthy that more than 30% of attendees at the fair book at least one diving trip annually, with 35% booking two or more, the statement further reveals.
