The budget for 2024, totaling 374 million euros, has been given the green light by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council during the plenary session. This represents a 17.1% increase compared to the 2023 budget.
Upon the absence of any objections, the 2024 budget will become effective following the legally established 15-day public display period.
Mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, stated, “The budget has been designed as a multi-year investment plan to ensure the continuity of ongoing and future initiatives in the upcoming years.”
Treasury Councilor, José Alberto Díaz-Estébanez, remarked, “We aim to promote Santa Cruz, supported by three key pillars,” referring to investment, social assistance, and public amenities. “We are presenting a substantial investment, close to 100 million euros, marking a 50% increase from last year, with the objective of ensuring the ongoing projects and introducing new ventures,” he noted.
The anticipated current income is reported to be 276.1 million euros by the City Council, with 66 million euros allocated for public services, 17 million for housing, 31.5 million for transportation, 8.8 million for events, and 7 million for sports and quality of life.
Additionally, the municipal plenary session has approved the documentation pertaining to the personnel of the City Council and its affiliated entities, along with the adjustment of the 2023-2024 Strategic Subsidy Plan.
