SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, January 28. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Treasury Department of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has underlined that in 2023, 161,940 bills for various municipal taxes were paid through automatic bank transfers, amounting to 31.36 million euros, resulting in a 1.5 million euro saving for taxpayers as the automatic bank transfer is subsidized by 5%.
Councilor of the department, José Alberto Díaz Estébanez, mentioned in a statement that the voluntary tax payment period commences on May 20, and “residents wishing to avail the 5% bonus on tax payment can set up automatic bank transfers for their bills until April 22 next.”
Furthermore, Santa Cruz’s fiscal calendar for 2024 will open on May 20 and will continue until July 22.
Taxes to be paid during this period include Urban Property and Real Estate Tax (IBI), specialized IBI, Mechanical Traction Vehicles (running), collection fees for solid waste (household garbage), and fees for private or special use of municipal public property (fords, parking reservations, and ATMs).
Automatic bank transfer requests received until April 22, inclusive of this day, will already benefit from the 5% bonus on their bills in 2024, with the amount being debited from the account in the latter part of the voluntary payment period, specifically on July 8. Requests made after the April 22 date will take effect in 2025.
Payment of bills via automatic bank transfer can be requested through the Santa Cruz City Council’s online platform (https://sede.santacruzdetenerife.es), or in person at the Citizen Information and Assistance Offices, where appointments can be made for quicker service.
