Caña Dulce and Cantares Luz de Luna clinched the top prizes for Performance and Presentation in the Musical Groups competition of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival.
The competition, according to the City Council, attracted over a thousand participants. Siboney, Nobleza Canaria, Sabor Isleño, Salsabor, Cantares Luz de Luna, Los Yuppies, Chaxiraxi, Teiderife, and Caña Dulce competed in a contest that emphasizes vocal composition, costume, and presentation.
Chaxiraxi secured the second prize in the performance category, while Cantares Luz de Luna claimed the third position.
Sabor Isleño clinched the second prize in this section. When it comes to Presentation, Chaxiraxi secured the second spot, and Siboney the third, with Los Yuppies taking second place.
Furthermore, Siboney received the accolade for Best Original Song with their track “Carnival always returns”. The best solo performance was by Jénifer Alonso, from the group Chaxiraxi, with the song “To agree”.
