The Tenerife Island Council will be carrying out enhancement and restoration projects on the TF-46 stretch that goes through the municipality of Isora Guide, as reported by the insular Corporation.
The work is scheduled for this upcoming Sunday and will result in the closure of the aforementioned road towards TF-1 between kilometer points 6+000 to 0+000 during the night hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.. Appropriate beacons and signage will be in place for traffic diversions and closures.
The Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga, elaborated that the aim of this undertaking is to “mitigate the frequent traffic incidents occurring on the left side of the road, at PK 0+050, where vehicles collide with the existing containment system (a concrete barrier of ‘New Jersey’ type) or even encroach upon and traverse the roundabout connecting the TF-46 with the island roads TF-1 and TF-465. Therefore, this reorganization aims to pacify traffic approaching the roundabout, decreasing accidents, and enhancing road safety.”
Moreover, the project will involve micro-milling the pavement and applying new horizontal signage for the affected section.
