Sunday’s Weather Forecast for the Canary Islands

According to the forecast by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) for this Sunday, clear skies are expected, with the exception of the western islands, and a persistent haze. The maximum and minimum temperatures are anticipated to remain stable, without significant changes.

Light to moderate winds from the southeast are expected, with intervals of greater intensity on exposed slopes, decreasing slowly in the afternoon and shifting to the north in the late hours.

The sea is expected to experience a decreasing swell or ripple, with a northwest swell measuring 1 to 2 meters high.

The island-wise forecast for this Sunday is as follows:

In general, clear skies are anticipated, with the possibility of some intervals of high and medium clouds during the central hours, along with the presence of haze.

Temperatures are expected to remain relatively unchanged, with light winds predominantly from the southeast, shifting to a northerly direction in the late hours of the day. On the summits, moderate southwest winds are expected, decreasing to light from midday.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: 16-25

Expect clear skies with the presence of haze. Maximum temperatures are expected to slightly rise, while minimum temperatures remain unchanged, except for a slight decrease on the southeastern slope. Light to moderate southeast winds are expected, with strong intervals on the northwest slope, decreasing to light and variable direction in the late hours.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Arrecife: 15-24

Expect clear skies with the presence of haze. Minimum temperatures will remain unchanged, while maximum temperatures are expected to slightly to moderately rise. Light to moderate southeast winds are expected, with intervals of greater intensity on the northwest slope, decreasing to light and variable direction in the afternoon.

Puerto del Rosario: 16-24

In general, expect clear skies with intervals of medium and high clouds, with a low probability of weak and scattered rains during the morning, as well as intervals of low clouds on the north coast at the end of the day. The presence of haze is also expected.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly, except for a slight decrease in minimum temperatures on the southern slopes, and a slight increase in maximum temperatures in the extreme northeast. Light to moderate southeast winds are expected, occasionally strong during midday on the western coasts and the northern slope of the Anaga massif.

Winds are expected to decrease slowly in variable direction in the afternoon. On central summits, moderate southwest winds are expected, with strong intervals during the central hours.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):

Santa Cruz de Tenerife: 17-27

Clear skies in general, with intervals of medium and high clouds, and a low probability of weak and scattered rains. Haze may be present.In the morning, expect showers and periods of low clouds on the northern coast by the evening. Haze may be present.

Lows will slightly to moderately decrease while maximums will slightly to moderately increase. The southeast wind will be light to moderate, with higher intensity in the far west and northeast, shifting to a northern direction later in the day. On mountain tops, expect a moderate southwest wind, decreasing to a light breeze by the end of the day.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C):
San Sebastian de la Gomera 17 25

Generally partly cloudy or clear skies, with intervals of medium and high clouds and a low chance of light and scattered showers in the early morning. Expect periods of low clouds on the northern coast by the end of the day. Haze may be present.

Minimum temperatures will remain unchanged or slightly decrease, while maximums will stay the same or see a slight increase. A moderate southerly wind is expected, occasionally becoming strong on the northwest slopes and extreme south in the morning. By noon, it will become light and variable, shifting to a northerly direction by the end of the day. On mountain tops, expect a moderate southwest wind, possibly becoming strong in the first half of the day.

Santa Cruz de la Palma 15 26

Expect generally partly cloudy or clear skies, with intervals of medium and high clouds and a low chance of light and scattered showers in the early morning. There may be periods of low clouds on the northern coast by the end of the day. Haze may be present.

Minimum temperatures will remain unchanged or slightly decrease, while maximums will remain the same or see a slight increase. The southeast wind will be light to moderate, with intervals of higher intensity in the far west and northeast in the morning, becoming lighter in the afternoon and shifting to a northerly direction by late evening.
