He Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Councilthrough the Urban Planning area directed by Zaida González, will proceed to carry out, through the company Signalaciones Tenerife, SL, the emergency work to be able to clean, plaster and close the two-story high buildingwhich has been abandoned for more than 30 years, on Antonio Saro Street, number 15, in the Valleseco neighborhood, in the Anaga district. These actions will be carried out within a period of two months and have a cost of 29,509 euros.

The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, comments that “great work is being done to be able to act on these properties that are abandoned, of which no one takes care, and that are deteriorating over time, compromising the safety of the neighbors who live in the area, something we cannot look the other way about.”

The Councilor for Urban Planning, Zaida González, explains that “a great effort has been made, without success, to find the owner of this lot that has been abandoned for a long time, and that with a capacity of 130 m³, is full of waste. ”.

Likewise, the councilor explains that “for the Urban Planning Management it is hard work to identify the owners of these buildings and these lots, which in many cases does not bear fruit, at which time action can be taken to restore their security and restoring the tranquility of the environment and the neighbors.”

The work that began this Wednesday consists of cleaning, disinfecting, plastering, covering and shoring up the holes in this site that has three facades. Property, in addition, in which the workers will proceed to the demolition of a section of cracked overhang that presents a danger of debris falling onto the public road.
