Titsa incorporated 14 drivers who have provided their service since this Tuesday in the bus public transportation company Tenerife Council. This group is operational after passing the mandatory training period, which lasted one month. The head of People Development of the company, Patricia Medina, and the director of Operations of the company, Manuel Mendoza, presented the diplomas that accredit the training and welcomed the new workers.
The 14 drivers acquired knowledge regarding the lines on the route, customer service, the type of vehicles, payment methods and occupational risk preventionamong other fundamental concepts.
This group joins the 25 drivers who are part of the Interurban Transport staff of Tenerife (Titsa) since October 13 from last year.
Competition-opposition
It so happens that a week ago the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) of Santa Cruz de Tenerife published the call for select drivers both to occupy fixed positions and to configure a reserve list for Titsa. This competition will respond to the needs for contracting the service on the island, according to the Cabildo.
The call establishes that applicants have until the next February 14th to submit the corresponding application for participation, attaching a photocopy of the documentation accrediting the general requirements established in the bases, which are published for consultation on the company’s website (www.titsa.com).
The island Government includes the hiring of drivers in Titsa in its plan to reinforce the lines of the public transport company. Added to this is the renewal of the fleet of vehicles currently in service. Precisely, the hiring of the new drivers occurs after the approval of the multi-year expense in favor of Titsa for the financing of the purchase of 247 buses, for an amount of 88,261,500 euros. These vehicles, of which 70% are hybrids, will arrive between this year and 2025. Their purpose is to renew the fleet that is more than 10 years old and replace the vehicles available to the company through the rentin financing system. (rent).
