“At the tourist level in Arona we are in very good health,” Dácil León, Councilor for Tourism and Economic Development, said yesterday on Onda Tenerife, hours before boarding for Madrid to attend Fitur, although she adds that “we must not stop working, “We can stay with our arms crossed, seeing the excellent occupancy results, but we need that tourist who arrives to be comfortable and in harmony with our neighbors, so that everyone can coexist in the most correct way possible.”
For her, it is essential to move forward with the General Plan and urbanizations, such as El Mojón or Costa del Silencio, which “will not happen from today to tomorrow”, also pointing out the need to promote the medians, so that “this tourism reverts to the rest of society, respecting sustainability and our natural and historical heritage.”
Another of Dácil León’s objectives in his municipal government areas is the promotion “of accessibility” and he recognizes that, in the case of the housing shortage in the municipality, “we arrived a little late, because there are problems that we have not known about.” see it coming and we have to look for solutions as quickly as possible.” “It doesn’t have to be a possibility,” he adds, “but an obligation; “We have to look for land, among all administrations, to make life easier for our population based on social housing,” he said, showing himself in favor of the opinion of the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, in which he pointed out that if the Tourism does not improve people’s lives, it is of no use.
