Unmitigated triumph of the Hydramar Gran Canaria that has beaten Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna in three sets that was not able to match either in defense, reception or attack to the Gran Canarian team that imposed its law in the CID with a resounding 3-0 on the scoreboard.
The most anticipated match of matchday 15 started with good feelings, with a partial start of 4-1, with Laura Suárez doing damage with her serve, Heloiza Pereira and Sulián Matienzo taking advantage to give the Gran Canarian team the first advantage.
Haris tried, but was unable to match the defensive solidity and attacking effectiveness of an Olympic team, which was joined by Laura Suárez and Caroline Godoi in the center and Saray Manzano along with Sulián Matienzo on the wings, to force consume their two time-outs after the halfway point of the first set (16-9).
Mila Collar debuted in her second stage at Hidramar. Haris showed signs of improvement, but Fran Carballo froze the game with 20-16 on the scoreboard to reorganize his pupils.
The yellow team’s reaction was immediate despite continuing to concede some of their own mistakes that were corrected with a missile from Heloiza Pereira that closed the first round for the Olympic team with a 25-21 that gave them the first advantage.
Hidramar was close to perfection in its reception, but gave some life to Haris with its own failures in attack, despite the fact that Heloiza Pereira, Saray Manzano and Laura Suárez managed to open a three-point gap that led Miguel Rivera to step on the panic pedal with a 10-7 on the scoreboard.
The Laguneras pressed with Bely leading the offensive and despite the continuous saves of Andrea Arocha in the rearguard, they managed to place the 12-all after a new error in attack by the yellows, the local coach, Fran Carballo, opting to stop it.
The second round did not have a clear dominator, with too many errors on both sides of the net. The Olympic team did not feel comfortable on the court and the local coach decided to stop the game again to readjust his pieces with 17-19 on the scoreboard.
Hidramar grew from defense, with Andrea Arocha in spiderwowan once again and Laura Suárez raised a wall in the center of the net to regain the advantage, passing the nerves to Rivera who stopped it with a 21-20 favorable to the yellows.
The best version of the Gran Canarian team was back at the most necessary moment to close with a 25-22, with points from Laura Suárez and Caroline Godoi, to double their advantage in the overall score of the match (2-0).
A set to remember
With the wind in their favor, Hidramar was flying at the start of the third act with a 4-0 start that forced Miguel Rivera to stop the game to avoid falling on the fast track against the eternal rival.
The rhythm of the Gran Canarian team was infernal, with Heloiza Pereira and Saray Manzano bringing out the seams of a Haris that ran out of timeouts before reaching the halfway point of the round (9-2).
Haris seemed to be groggy in the face of the defense and attack repertoire of an Olympic team that did not let up and managed to minimize its mistakes so as not to make concessions to its rival, who moved his bench in search of a reaction that never came, beyond of Belly’s pride, which was only enough to disguise the obvious superiority of the yellows in a set that closed with an overwhelming 25-7 that Bea Novoa closed with a shot through the center that put the icing on the cake of a match almost perfect for the locals (3-0).
