SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, January 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Concepción Arenal Maritime Rescue Guard rescued a canoe with 40 people during the early hours of this Thursday when they were almost 228 kilometers (123 miles) south of La Restinga, in El Hierro, as reported by Salvamento and the Red Cross.

The canoe was sighted by a sailboat named ‘Bravo’ when the boat was about 228 kilometers south of the island of El Hierro, so the Tenerife Coordination Center mobilized the Sasemar 101 plane, which located the canoe.

He also mobilized the sea guard Concepción Arenal, who finally rescued 40 people of sub-Saharan origin and transferred them to the La Restinga dock, where they were assisted by the health device in the area made up of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and the Red Cross.
