Projects for mobility and commerce, priorities in El Sauzal

He Tenerife Council and the City Council of El Sauzal They addressed the strategic projects for the municipality during a meeting between the president of the island corporation, Rosa Davilaand the mayor of the municipality, Mariano Pérez, among which issues related to mobility and trade prevail.

Specifically, among the issues discussed at the aforementioned meeting, the improvement of open commercial areas stands out; the installation of a car park in the center of the town Sauzalero urban area, an action that is part of the list of initiatives that are being launched through the Municipal Cooperation Plan; the improvement of the La Garañona Viewpoint; the Costa Acentejo Special Plan and the installation of a day center among other projects of interest.

The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila He highlighted the importance of having recovered these meetings with the municipalities of the Island and indicated that “it is a privilege to be able to work with such clear and future-oriented projects and ideas for a municipality like El Sauzal. There are nine thousand inhabitants who must be treated with affection since, many times they do not have much budget, and they need the Cabildo to undertake major works that improve people’s quality of life.

The improvement of the Mirador La Garañona is one of the priority interventions

Positive meeting

For its part, the mayor of El Sauzal, Mariano Pérez He thanked the interest shown by the insular president and the sensitivity shown towards the municipality in the budgets corresponding to this year that have been recently approved by the insular Corporation. «It has been a very positive meeting because we have talked about the most important issues for the municipality in the next four years, especially in terms of tourism and mobility that will reinforce development. not only from El Sauzal but from the entire island of Tenerife», said Pérez Hernández.

The case of Mirador La Garañona is unique. Already in 2019, the mayor, Mariano Pérez, expressed: “I have a dream that I share with the municipal architect, which is to build the most important viewpoint in the north of Tenerife in the La Garañona area.” Its purpose, reiterated a year ago, is to turn it into a large balcony hanging over the Atlantic Ocean. The municipal government seeks the necessary financial support in other public administrations to transform an obsolete space, which steals the views from the road, into an icon, into “the most important viewpoint in the north of Tenerife”, in the words of the mayor of Sauzal, Mariano Pérez.
