The scene of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival 2024 serves as a tribute, not only to the world of television, the main theme of this year, but to the entire Party itself, with some of its most remembered protagonists.

Recreated in a world of Television As a plot thread, Nareme Melián’s scenic proposal is characterized by the representation of the most important geographical landmarks of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, from the Guimerá Theater, to the Plaza de Toros or Plaza de España. In addition to the previous epicenters of the party, the iconic characters King Kong or Superchicha will take center stage.

The mayor of Santa Cruz of Tenerife, Jose Manuel Bermudezassessed this morning the state of the assembly of the main stage of the Carnival, which starting tonight will host the children’s murgas contest, the first of the contests scheduled for this edition of the festivities.

“We are very satisfied with the result achieved with this installation, which we will appreciate in all its dimension once the competitions begin, but we already see that it is larger, having more space for the performances,” said Bermúdez at the end of the visit, in addition to congratulating to the designer and the companies and operators who work on the assembly.

Accompanied by the Festival Councilor, Javier Caraballero, the mayor was informed about the details of the work carried out since last week. Despite the increase in the stage surface, throughout the large hall of the building, the capacity remains unchanged compared to the last edition of the Carnival. “The Fairgrounds guarantee us safety, comfort and protection, in case of inclement weather, facilitating the organizational work and the provision of means for the people to enjoy their festivities,” he stated.

For his part, the Festival Councilor, Javier Caraballero, wanted to highlight the work “and coordination of many local companies in the sector, with nearly a hundred people, who have managed to set up all this in record time since it was closed on January 5. the PIT”, and added “we have arrived in time for the start of the competitions this afternoon”.

The stage for the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival 2024 will occupy a stage area of 1,200 m2 and its support will occupy approximately 1,600 m2, with a maximum height of 16 meters. The design will be modular in various heights adapting to the shape of the roof of the Fairgrounds. The stage surface will have a width of 60 meters in its front part and a distance of 26 meters between the central door and the stage entrance.

Nareme Melián wanted to thank the mayor and the Festival Councilor for their trust. “When thinking of me, for a project as important as the stage for the competitions and galas, which is also a faithful copy of the design.”

The different participating groups will be able to access it through three 23-meter ramps and in this edition there will also be an extension of the rotating 14.5 meter towards the public. Furthermore, due to the span of the support, on both sides of the stage, the structure will fly between 6 and 4 meters, leaving the passage free without obstacles for free transit.

The design is designed to provide the greatest possible dynamism to the evolution of the parades of the queen candidates, as well as to the performances of the groups and collectives that will participate in the different competitions. For this, there will also be a total of 400 m2 of screens, which, distributed at different points of the creative proposal, will provide greater visual impact to the show that takes place on stage.
