A driver was arrested this Wednesday in Tenerife after causing an unusual and dangerous situation at a roundabout in the south of the island: he drove in the wrong direction, at night, with his lights off and making numerous turns without stopping the vehicle. It occurred in the Las Chafiras area, in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona.
Given what was happening, with this dark car driving without stopping again and again in the opposite direction inside the roundabout, other vehicles chose to stop without entering the roundabout, which caused a large traffic jam on the access roads to the same. Numerous people got out of their cars to look at this driver and took the opportunity to video record what was happening. Far from stopping, the dark car continued traveling and only stopped when a Local Police patrol appeared at high speed, which moved in front and forced it to stop. Very quickly, the agents took this driver out of the car and reduced him to the road, and then took him into custody.
This driver’s maneuvers caused great indignation among those who were affected by his erratic and dangerous driving, as demonstrated by the comments left on social networks, although other people claim that he suffered from a health problem and was disoriented.
