The municipality of El Rosario closed last December 2023 with the lowest unemployment rate since July 2008. Currently, it has 1,028 unemployed people, which represents a rate of 11.78%, which means that it was the second best month of all last year. To find a lower percentage, we must go back to the summer of 2008, fifteen years ago, when in July of that year the unemployment rate stood at 11.62%, the City Council noted in a press release.

The data for December 2023 correspond to a decrease of 12.1% in terms of the interannual evolution, that is, with respect to December 2022. In addition, the reduction in the unemployment rate above 10% in all cases is notable. the age ranges of unemployed people: it decreased by 15.6% among people between 25 and 44 years old, 11.8% among those under 25 years old and 10.2% among people aged 45 years in forward.

The mayor of El Rosario, Escolásico Gil, highlights the effort made by the corporation “to provide training tools and employment to the citizens of the municipality, as well as to take advantage of all the opportunities that the Canarian Employment Service offers us in terms of training and employment for our neighbors,” states the press release from the Rosario City Council.
