The Prevention Unit of the Candelaria City Council reinforces the fight against drugs in the municipality, following the guidelines established in the Municipal Plan. “In continuous work, preventive projects and programs are developed from First to Sixth, in the five Primary schools of the municipality, reaching almost 1,000 schoolchildren through the Interróga-T Project,” detailed the Candelariero City Council through a note. of press.
In the Secondary stage, the Game of Keys program is implemented at the Santa Ana and Punta Larga IES. Furthermore, at the IES Santa Ana, the workshops Attention, you see and Puzzles, aimed at Basic Vocational Training, are carried out with an annual budget that exceeds, between Primary and Secondary, 48,000 euros, financed exclusively by the City Council.
The mayor of Candelaria, Mari Brito, expressed in the note her “unwavering support” for these initiatives: “The prevention of addictions is a priority in our management. We are dedicated to providing effective tools and resources to educate our youth about the associated risks and promote a safe and healthy environment.
«In addition, the Prevention Unit will carry out a diagnosis of the municipal reality to guide future interventions, shaping the V Municipal Addiction Prevention Plan. The collaboration of all the agents involved will be requested, promoting a dynamic and participatory approach to address current challenges,” said Candelaria Councilor for Social Services, Olivia Pérez.

In the area of awareness, annual calendars are being distributed in local companies, providing contact for the addiction prevention service. The first phase of the Meeting Goals Project was also successfully completed, “providing free psychological care to 45 people in the last quarter of the year, addressing the demand for professional psychological care in those who lacked the means to access it.”
