The Cabildo of Tenerife will allocate 26 million euros for the rehabilitation and completion of the expansion works of the Annex Building to the Insular Palace.
The first step has been the approval by the Governing Council of the tenders for the construction management for the restoration of the façade and the interior of the building for an amount of 1.4 million euros.
This tender will be structured in five years (2024-2028) and will be followed by the tender for the construction works of the building for an amount of 14 million euros, which includes the restoration of the façade and interior of the property.
To this action we must add the tender for the drafting of the garage project, a work that will involve a disbursement of 12 million euros, reports the Cabildo.
The total budget, of 26 million euros, is almost double that allocated by the Council to the Natural Environment and Primary Sector area for 2024.
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, recalled that it is a property that has an area of 5,649 square meters, unusable for more than ten years, and whose works were paralyzed in 2019 due to structural problems that forced the “emptying” of the building. structure.
“We hope to rebuild it so that it once again becomes a reference for the city and the entire island,” he indicated.
