SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, January 15. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A man has gone to prison after kidnapping his ex-partner and stabbing her boyfriend several times in a car on TF-1 in the early hours of last Christmas Eve.
The facts were known this Monday through a statement from the National Police in which it details the intervention of an off-duty agent who managed to save the young man’s life on the side of the highway.
The events occurred when the agent was traveling with his wife on the TF-1 and at kilometer 30 and in the direction of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a vehicle that was going at an excessive speed was placed in front of the one preceding the agent’s and with maneuvers reckless actions caused the three vehicles to have to stop on the right shoulder.
At that moment, both the agent and his wife observed how a man came out of the vehicle that made them stop and walked towards the car in front of them and when he was at the height of the driver, he took out a sharp object and stabbed him several times.
The person who was the co-pilot, a woman, got out of the vehicle very upset and the aggressor approached her, forcing her to get into his car and then flee, the National Police details in a note.
This entire event occurred in a matter of seconds and the off-duty agent began to notify the emergency services and provided the details of the vehicle that fled.
He then went to help the injured person and observed how he had several deep cuts that were bleeding on the abdomen and left side of the chest, so he had to apply first aid by covering the wounds and trying to prevent him from losing consciousness.
Two ambulances and several Civil Guard patrols attended the scene.
The agent, who continued to assist the victim, managed to get him to state that the aggressor is his girlfriend’s ex-partner and provided both the national police and the other agents with the information about this person.
The victim had to be transferred to the nearest hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and according to statements from the emergency services and hospital officials, the agent’s quick action managed to save his life without a doubt.
With the data provided by the victim before his transfer to the hospital, full identification of the author was achieved, a 27-year-old man with a police record who also had a restraining order on the woman he forced into his car.
Just an hour later he was located by Civil Guard agents, who released the woman and arrested the aggressor for the crimes of attempted homicide, illegal detention and physical abuse.
