The evolution of the Arona fire is ”favorable” after the smoke column dissipates



The evolution of the fire that occurred at the Arona behavioral plant is favorable. The column of smoke has been dissipating throughout this Monday, as reported by the Island Council.

On its social networks, the island corporation has specified that two fire crews with 14 personnel are working at the site.

As for the aerial means, a helicopter from the Brifor of the Cabildo of Tenerife and that of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands are acting this Monday, alternating in the discharges to refresh the area.

The works have been sectorized and consist of the movement of the compost through heavy machinery, and it is refreshed and finished with ground personnel.

Furthermore, the Cabildo indicates that the Tenerife Fire Consortium will continue working 24 hours a day to extinguish the fire, which affects about 3.5 hectares of the premises, in which 100,000 tons of plant material accumulate.
