Residents of Santa Úrsula appeal to the Provincial Council to put an end to 40 years ”without public lighting”

Neighbors of La Quinta, in the Tenerife municipality of Santa Úrsula, have requested this Monday the mediation of the Common Deputy to end 40 years without public lighting, a problem that affects about 2,000 residents in the area.

The president of the La Quinta de Chimaque Association, José Andrés Pérez, denounces the lack of infrastructure and services that have existed for 40 years in the urbanization known as La Quinta Vieja, and for 15 years in La Quinta Nueva, especially the lack of public lighting.

For this reason, the residents have turned to the Common Deputy to mediate between the Santa Úrsula City Council, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Tenerife Cabildo, the development company Gestur and the neighbors, “to try to reach a five-way agreement so that, once and for all, this issue is resolved,” the Provincial Council reports in a statement.

The common representative, Rafael Yanes, assures that Gestur reported that, throughout this month, the two urbanization projects and the declarations of non-compliance for their approval will be presented to the Santa Úrsula City Council, which are prerequisites for the forced execution of works.
