SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, January 15. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, the Minister of Highways, Dámaso Arteaga and the mayor of San Juan de la Rambla, Juan Ramos, met this Monday to promote various highway projects.
Dávila pointed out that one of the main actions that will be carried out this year is the reorganization of the intersection of El Rosario, also known as ‘La Rambla’.
“When we arrived at the Cabildo we found that the problem had not been resolved. The previous government group said in May of last year that it was already resolved and there really was no study of alternatives. Now the steps have been taken and we have approved the drafting of the project in which the different alternatives will be presented. From there we will make a decision jointly with the city council and the neighbors,” he indicated in a note.
Dávila also pointed out that “we must look for an alternative that guarantees safety for the neighbors and circulation, it is a road with a significant movement of vehicles and it was a risk for the neighbors to make that turn in the way that was being done.”
The Cabildo recently awarded the project to draft the solutions to the company Trazas Ingeniería SL for an amount of around 64,200 euros and an execution period of six months.
Regarding the roads, the president of the Cabildo pointed out that “we must invest to put them at a new level and not only paved but also for them to have lighting and, if possible, with solar energy.”
For his part, Juan Ramos indicated that important issues for San Juan de la Rambla were discussed, such as roads, farmers’ demands and others related to sanitation and the promotion of the historic center.
“We are working hand in hand with the Cabildo and we hope that they will be resolved,” he said.
In that sense, he appreciated the presence of Dámaso Arteaga, who reported on the status of the project to reorganize the El Rosario intersection.
Dávila and Ramos agreed when pointing out the importance of sanitation and water purification works in the municipality, as well as the need to promote the historic center as an element of attraction and enjoyment for residents and visitors.
