The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Prosecutor’s Office requests nine years in prison and the payment of 17,500 euros for an attempted murder



The Provincial Court of Tenerife has requested nine years in prison and the payment of almost 17,500 euros in compensation to a man for an alleged crime of attempted homicide, with the aggravating circumstance of superiority.

The Public Ministry also requests that the defendant stay half a kilometer away from the victim and not communicate with him for five years, after leaving prison and another six years of probation.

The events took place on a street in Arona when the accused attacked the victim with a 31-centimeter kitchen knife that he stabbed without saying a word in the abdomen, putting his life at risk. As a result, the injured man suffered injuries of about two centimeters in the place where the weapon was hit and a liver laceration, among other various damages that required hospitalization and open surgery.

In total, there were three days in which the injured party suffered serious damage, 27 moderate and 30 basic, in addition to consequences such as a 15-centimeter scar of a permanent nature.

Since the events occurred, his entry into prison was provisionally ordered, a situation in which he remains to this day, a penalty that will be subtracted from the one imposed in the future if he is convicted.
